We have been asked by the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in
Europe 
(OSCE) to distribute a questionnaire about the impact of concentration of
media 
ownership on journalism and journalists. It would help the project which is
being 
carried out right across Europe if it had the input of British journalists
too.

On behalf of the OSCE's Representative on Freedom of the Media, Mr. Freimut
Duve, 
we are conducting an in depth research study on the impact of media
concentration 
on professional journalism.

The European Federation of Journalists in Brussels did consider this
initiative 
important enough to give it it's full support and sent out e-mails to their
members 
explaining the purpose of this survey.

We, too, would like to ask you to participate in this research by
distributing 
the questionnaire attached to this letter through the journalistic community 
of your country by e-mail.

Naturally all information provided will be treated confidentially and will be 
made anonymous. There will be no way to trace back a link to individual
persons.

Of course, if you don't feel comfortable answering this questionnaire in
English, 
you may use your own language.
