CURRENT AFFAIRS: AN ENDANGERED SPECIES
Fifty years after the start of PANORAMA, current affairs as a
broadcasting genre is no longer central to the nation's television
schedules. Is this a cause for democratic concern? Or is it a sign
that it is no longer necessary to distinguish current affairs from
news and other specialist topical programmes? What do audiences want?

This conference brings together academics, radio and television
broadcasters, regulators and all who are interested in examining how
broadcasters reflect on and respond to current issues.

Sir Jeremy Isaacs will give a keynote address on the evening of 
Friday, November 7th, 2003. Other confirmed speakers in the plenary
