AP has reported fresh protests at the Bilderberg meeting near Athens in Greece, this time from right wing Greek nationalists.

“The demonstrators, from Greece’s right-wing Popular Orthodox Rally party, shouted slogans and held a large banner saying “Bilderberg Unwelcome” outside the hotel, which is 25 miles (40 kilometers) south of Athens on the Aegean Sea. One demonstrator was arrested when the group tried to break through a police cordon.”

I need to go back a day and tell you exactly how I came to be in an Athens metro station at 8am, grappling with two strange men, struggling and yelling: "Help me somebody! Security! Please! Someone get security! Get the police!" My voice still hurts. My brain is ready to explode.

But that is today. Yesterday divides in half: the half where I flee the Bilderberg resort, too scared and strung out to remain, and the half when I have to bundle myself in a random cab and drive to the British Embassy for my own safety.

I am being hounded. And all because I dared report on Bilderberg. Because I dared point my finger at them, there, in the darkness of a seaside peninsula. Ecce Bilderberg!

I am not lying. I am not exaggerating. I am not imagining. I am not hysterical. If anything, I became incredibly calm when I finally stopped being the ­criminal, stopped being the hare, and grabbed one of the men who's been following me. I was turning the madness back in on itself, grabbing their wrists and plunging all of us further down the rabbit hole.

So yes, to be clear, I've just been tussling with two men in the bleak marble atrium of an Athens Metro station. But that was this morning. I haven't even had breakfast yet. I need to tell you about yesterday.

I wrote the words below a thousand years or so before all that's happened to me in central Athens. See me now, back in Vouliagmeni, sitting in a cafe by the sea, being watched (of course) while I sip my orange juice. It is another beautiful day on the Greek Riviera …

That's it, I'm done, I'm gone.

Believe me when I say, I feel physically intimidated; I feel afraid. I've had my own little seaside dip into a police state and the water's coming over my head.

If you've ever been bullied you'll know exactly what I'm feeling: the tightness in the chest, looking both ways down corridors, hating the fear, hating your mind for asking "am I safe here? Am I safe?" I've been bullied out of Vougliameni, bullied away by Bilderberg for daring to be near.

I am leaving the toxic orbit of Bilderberg so I can breathe freely. So I can walk down a sidestreet without being followed by plainclothes policemen. I'm tired of men in the lobby, men on the stairs, the same men in different doorways, on different corners wherever I go. Cars pulling away from the kerb when I approach. The same cars, the same feelings. I'm tired of complaining at the station. I've complained three times now, and the final time turned nasty. They denied outright I was being followed. "This is an idea in your mind!" I showed them a photo I took today, when I took my tail on a looping stroll through the hills, waited round a corner, and snapped him unawares. They're not very good at this, but that just makes it worse. If they were a bit more subtle I could pretend they weren't there.

I have been made to feel weak, but buried in my weakness is a fury. How dare they make me feel like this. How dare they! They have turned this corner of the Greek Riviera into east Berlin (a helicopter circles above me as I type these words, I swear) and I haven't the backbone to brazen it out. Checkpoint Charlie here I come.

Of all the things I am furious about, the one that rankles the most is the fact that I've become jumpy. It's crazy that I'm keeping my room door open as I pack, and the balcony door. Two exits. It's crazy that I've started checking the bathroom and the wardrobe when I enter. That I'm taking photographs of my laptop when I leave the room, and finding it moved. I want to be in the open, in the sunlight, in front of people. I crave the fresh air of Athens city centre, and that's saying something.

Nor am I imagining things - this is not an "idea in my mind". And how extraordinary that I have to write that. It is shocking and upsetting that I have to justify my sanity, defend my perceptions and stand in a police station being told I am imagining things. I showed them the photo of the man I caught round the corner. An officer asks, absurdly: "How from this photograph do you say he is following you? I just see a man." I take a deep breath. "Well, yes, he isn't holding a sign which says 'I am following Charlie Skelton' so I suppose you have to take my word for it."

In comes the chief. Bossios Hoggios. "What the problem?" I tell him that I am being followed by the police, and that I would like it to stop, or be told the reason. "Why you here?" he barks. I tell him I am here for the Bilderberg conference at the Astir Palace. "Well, that is the reason! That is why! We are finished!" And he washes his hands of me, dismissing me with a gesture, striding back to his office. "Idiot," I mutter, unheard.

Back to the photograph.

"How you know he is a policeman?"

"I know that he is, I've seen him talking to your colleagues at the checkpoint."

"You are not allowed to take photos of policemen."

"So I am being followed by policemen?"

He gestures out of the window.

"Where is he now, this man you say following you? Show me him."

I'm standing in a police station. I don't know what to say. They tell me to ring the police if I see them again. To ring the police if I see the police following me.

I shouldn't have called the officer an idiot. I shouldn't have raised my voice and derided the craziness of the situation. I'm not in a friendly room any more, so I decide to leave. I clap my hands together with as much mockery as my anger allows, and cry: "We are finished!" I wash my hands of the Greek police.

But I'm not done with Bilderberg.

I finish my orange juice, pick up my rucksack, and walk down the street to hail a cab. Which is when I'm detained for the third time. I'm a good half mile from Bilderberg, trying to leave the resort, sick of it all, but Checkpoint Charlie has just slammed in my face.

"You take photographs!"

I'd done no such thing. I was waiting for a cab.

"Show me your camera! Why you here?!"

They circle round. Local cops, a riot officer, two private "security" men. I looked at their lanyards: Avion Security. One of the Avion goons prods me with his walkie-talkie. "Why you here?" I tell him, wearily, that I'm a journalist. He rubs his chin and says the words that even in a 30-degree sun turn my blood to ice.

"Show me your papers."

ARMED guards are patrolling the grounds of the Athenian Riviera’s luxurious Astir Palace resort this weekend to ensure impenetrable privacy for a coterie of A1 celebrities – but don’t ask who they are.

They are attending the annual gathering of the powerful Bilderberg illuminati, a club so secret that officially it does not even exist.

The five-star hotel is hosting a roll call of luminaries – royalty, politicians, bankers, plutocrats and backroom power brokers – who will be debating the great global problems of the day and what they might do to solve them.

Since its foundation in the Netherlands in 1954 at the Hotel de Bilderberg, the group has guarded its identity so jealously that only a chosen few are summoned and attendance is strictly by invitation only.

One well-placed insider, who dared not give his name, said: “Bilderberg makes the Vatican look positively open. These are hugely influential people, men and women who truly wield power.”

The Athens meeting, its 55th, might have gone unnoticed had it not been for the intense media scrutiny that the organisation has come under with the advent of the internet and technology-driven information transparency.

BILDERBERG MEETINGS REMAIN A MYSTERY

Ever hear of Bilderberg? If not, that’s the idea.

According to various Web sites, the Bilderberg is an “unofficial, annual, invitation-only conference of around 130 guests, most of whom are persons of influence in the fields of politics, business and banking.”

The names of alleged past participants of this secretive group include former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, former World Bank president Paul Wolfowitz, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, and even former President Bill Clinton.

The Bilderberg group is currently holding its 57th annual conference at a hotel outside Athens, Greece. And while the list of the some 120 influential people is highly protected, Internet bloggers contend this year’s attendees include Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, who supposedly will be “taking orders from the Global Elite,” according to one Web site.

The circle got its name from the Bilderberg hotel in the Netherlands, where the first meeting took place in 1954. The group is a “broad cross section of leading citizens that are assembled for nearly three days of informal and off-the-record discussions about topics of current concern especially in the fields of foreign affairs and the international economy,” according to a brochure the group provides to interested parties.

The booklet also mentions the topics that the Bilderbergs have discussed in the past.

In 1988, one year before German re-unification, one of the topics was “The German question revisited.” At the 2007 conference in Istanbul, Turkey, the power elites talked about “The new world order: uni-polar or non-polar?”

At last year’s conference in Virginia, “Cyber-terrorism” and “After Bush: The future of U.S.-EU relations” was on the agenda.

The agendas make it clear: The Bilderbergs do not come together for a vacation. It is big-world politics that are discussed at the meetings.

But how can a group that sends out a booklet with its agenda be so secretive? For starters, the group does not have an official headquarters, and no telephone operator will be able to provide you a phone number for the group.

However, some journalists who have dealt with the group for decades claim to have inside sources. These journalists publicized the phone number of the group on the Internet. The number is consistent with telephone numbers at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands. If you dial the number, Maya Banks-Poldermann, the executive secretary of Bilderberg, will pick up the phone but she will not mention the group’s name. Only after asking if you have reached the Bilderberg office, will she confirm. The secretary will offer to send out the group’s booklet, but will not answer any questions.

In addition, the members will not talk about the meetings.

Does this group of power elites accomplish anything? It depends on whom you ask.

According to the Bilderberg brochure, “at the meetings, no resolutions are proposed, no votes are taken, and no policy statements issued.”

But George McGhee, a former U.S. ambassador to West Germany, reportedly told Mike Peters, a sociologist from Leeds University, that the “The Treaty of Rome … which brought the Common Market into being, was nurtured at Bilderberg meetings.”

What will come out of this year’s meeting, which ends Sunday?

It will be hard to find out. Britain’s Guardian newspaper carried a story from a reporter who was arrested for taking photos of the meeting site, so it is clear the group takes its secrecy seriously. However, that will not stop the meeting from being a hot topic on the Internet or from fueling bloggers’ speculation.

Of course, most of these articles are mocking, but to the uneducated, the first thing they`ll do is Google "Bilderberg"....and if you are going to honest, "they" don`t want the wider public to know....or do they?

Estulin didn`t predict the financial crisis like I did years ago, but now Tucker and Estulin are letting us know that Bilderberg are deciding on the financial outcome...long, or short...its a joke of mega proportions and its on you.

At least the Guardian covered the Bilderberg Meeting - their journalist Charlie Skelton was obviously shaken by the treatment he received by the security forces - simply for politely wanting to know what was going on in Athens.

Hopefully the articles will encourage readers to find out more about Bilderberg , and discover resources such as this ! I would prefer to see properly researched reporting of Bilderberg activities - then people can make up their own minds about them.

The fact that Skelton will, almost certainly, be banned from writing for the mainstream press for daring to report on Bilderberg should persuade decent people that Bilderberg deserve to be exposed.

I was initially sceptical that Athens would again be the venue for this year`s Bilderberg event - perhaps only a Police State can ensure them the protection and news blackout they insist on!

London Guardian writer Charlie Skelton has further detailed the constant harassment and stalking he has been forced to endure for daring to cover the 2009 Bilderberg meeting near Athens.

A somewhat distressed and emotionally exasperated Skelton has filed a fresh report explaining how he has been consistently followed around and spied upon by undercover police (pictured opposite) and government security officials during his time in Vouliagmeni, Greece.

“I came to make a few cracks about Bilderberg and ended up getting sledgehammered in the nuts.” Skelton writes, referring to the fact that his initial posts were written with a lighthearted and comical approach.

The situation quickly turned serious for Skelton however, once the secretive elite confab kicked off.

He has been arrested twice for attempting to take photographs close to the Astir Palace resort, inside of which 150 or so of the world’s most influential powerbrokers have been trading words and strategies for the past four days.

Skelton relates how he has been threatened by his stalkers and has even gotten into a scuffle with two of them.

“I have been stalked and harassed by Greek government security, I have hidden from them in stairwells, challenged them in the street, tried to arrest them, and been lied to by them.” he writes.

Skelton describes how he has approached different police departments around the city to demand answers on why he is being hounded, and how he has even seen one of his stalkers inside a police department.

Despite also visiting the British embassy after fearing for his safety, Skelton has been completely stonewalled by the authorities.

He repeats the words spoken to him by a police captain in Athens:

“No, I don’t think you have a problem. They only follow you to see where you are going. I think they don’t want to harm you. And if they do want to harm you, I’d sooner they don’t do that in Athens.”

“They follow you from police station to police station. They know that you have informed police that you are threatened. They are more careful now.”

Investigative journalist Daniel Estulin reveals Bilderberg’s plan to destroy world economy, lower global population by two thirds

Investigative journalist Daniel Estulin, whose information from inside Bilderberg has routinely proven accurate, states that the global elite’s plan to completely destroy the economy and ultimately lower global population by two thirds has stoked fears even within Bilderberg itself that the fallout from such chaos could ultimately result in the globalists losing their control over the world.

In a telephone interview, Estulin re-iterated his original points about Bilderberg’s 2009 agenda, which were released in a pre-meeting booklet to members. These include the notion that investors, whipped up into a false state of euphoria by the belief that the economy is recovering, are being suckered into ploughing their money back into the system as a set up for “massive losses and searing financial pain in the months ahead” as the stock market reverses its uptrend and plummets to new lows.

One of Bilderberg’s main topics of conversation at this year’s meeting was whether to oversee a long period of economic stagnation or to quickly sink the economy with a rapid depression.

Estulin called the “bank stress tests” recently conducted as being “little more than a shameless hoax based on the irrational assumption that the economy wont get as bad as it already is.”

Bilderberg are also intent in pushing through the Lisbon Treaty despite it being rejected by countries in Europe who allowed their population to vote on the issue, and are prepared to manufacture demonization campaigns against anti-EU pressure groups, namely the Libertas organization fronted by Declan Ganley.

One of Bilderberg’s primary concerns according to Estulin is the danger that their zeal to reshape the world by engineering chaos in order to implement their long term agenda could cause the situation to spiral out of control and eventually lead to a scenario where Bilderberg and the global elite in general are overwhelmed by events and end up losing their control over the planet.

Estulin said that the economic crisis is a vastly greater threat than a mere recession and that, as long as the present structure of the global economy remains the same, it will ultimately lead to a massive population reduction of two thirds within a generation or two.

Estulin said that such a massive crisis would bring many unknowns that “Scare and frighten some of the more savvy members of the Bilderberg inner circle who are wondering how far they have actually gone not only to destroy the world but perhaps even destroy themselves,” adding that this subject was a topic of conversation at this year’s meeting.

Estulin highlighted a phrase that he first ran across in Bilderberg documents many years ago but only came to understand more recently following the 2002 meeting in Chantilly Virginia, the term “demand destruction”.

Estulin said that a source connected to the World Bank explained to him that, “You destroy demand by destroying the world economy on purpose - which is what we’re witnessing right now,” added Estulin, “destruction of the world economy on purpose.”
