According to a recent report, Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands may have been involved in a deliberate coverup regarding the crash of a Turkish Airlines (THY) aircraft back in 1975. The flight was a Turkish Airlines Fokker F-28-1000 Fellowship which was on a night instrument approach to Istanbul-Yesilköy on 30 January, 1975 when a previously announced electrical power cut was implemented as the aircraft was on final approach with landing gear down. Airport and runway lights were affected for a total of 22 seconds. The aircraft crashed into the Sea of Marmara while maneuvering for another approach.

"The aircraft crashed due to a power shutdown at Yesilkoy (Airport). It was making an abbreviated pass to return to the airfield when it went into the sea."

Apparently, Fokker, which was owned by Bernhard and his family, made an agreement with the Turkish Gov't not to allow recovery of the aircraft in order to prevent the major financial compensation to the victims' families.

Interesting to note is that it was an Izmir-Istanbul flight which crashed 3 months prior to the Bilderberg 1975 Meeting in Izmir. Whether 2nd pilot Nusret Demirel was a relative of Süleyman Demirel (former Turkish PM & President) and knew about the upcoming meeting and/or its location is still conjecture at this time.

Can anyone forward info. on what was discussed at Bilderberg 1975 and whether it had anything to do with this incident?

After an airline accident why does the airline operator white out the titles?
After an airline accident where the aircraft is still intact, why do the airline operators white the titles out? My first reaction is that they don't want other people to see the "distressed" aircraft but I wanted to know if there was any other reason or if they were required to do it. Just recently with the British Airways 777, they whited the titles out but they left the paint on the tail.

I've been looking for info on this crash since the day it happened back in 1975. I mean, how can you not find a wreckage in the Marmara Sea which is like lake-deep, in the first place? Anyway, thanks so much for the passenger list, which is a great find. I can't point out a link between Bilderberg and this crash but it is very fishy not to find a wreckage in shallow water. Let's dig this some more. But thanks, you're great. Where do you reside?
